Austin started with us in spring 2018 as an unofficial DJ assistant at our sister company Our DJ Rocks and quickly became hooked! After joining us on our first team retreat, where we fiercely competed in a game of Whirly Ball, we sat down with Austin to get to know him a little bit more.
As if we didn't already love him enough, we might have loved him just a bit more after he helped the girls score a few extra points in the game against our delivery team! You'll love him even more too after getting to know him.

Who inspires you?
It's cliche but, honestly, my mom! My mom has a way of working her way into your heart simply because she's a trustworthy, caring, and motivational individual. I aspire to be like her in so many ways and I'm so thankful to call her mom!
When people ask “what do you do”, how do you answer?
I manage a water park during the day and spend my evenings at weddings and events as a photo booth attendant!
Where is your favorite place in the world?
The beach!!
What are you passionate about?
Helping people and making the best out of life.
What's your favorite family tradition?
Christmas Eve dinner at Grandma's house!
What did you do before you did this?
I've been in the aquatics safety industry since 2011.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
A great friend of mine is a DJ for the company and she recommended that I apply in April of 2018. The passion that she has for her job inspired me to want to work in the industry and specifically for Photobooth Rocks!
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
I feel like my work has made me a very open and approachable person, seeing as I interact with so many types of people at my events!
What advice would you have for future Our DJ Rocks and Photobooth Rocks team members?
Enjoy yourself! It's rare to find a job that you literally get paid to party! Exceed what's expected and have fun!
How do you balance career and family?
My family is very supportive of my career in both fields. I live a very busy lifestyle but still manage to fit in quality family time whenever possible.
What drew you to Photobooth Rocks originally and how has Photobooth Rocks changed since?
I heard nothing but amazing qualities about the people who run the company along with the passionate team they lead! I wanted to be a part of a team that I know I could build a bond with. Since I started, I've been pleasantly surprised to see that leadership thrives on communication and perfection! I love being up to date and confident when doing a task and our company does a great job making sure we are 100% ready!
What is your proudest moment at Photobooth Rocks?
A little girl came up to the photo booth and she was so excited to take some silly photos with our props! She wasn't quite tall enough to be in frame so I knelt down and allowed her to stand on my knee so she could take her photos. For such a young girl, she was so grateful that I helped her out! It definitely made my evening!

What do you like most about Photobooth Rocks?
The smiles! By the end of the night, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! Everyone's usually feeling good and having a great time when they come over to visit me at the photo booth!
Tell us about your most memorable event so far and why it was.
It's hard to pick my most memorable event, as I have my favorite moments from them all but I recently worked a 40th surprise birthday party that was hosted on the second floor of a really unique restaurant and overlooked a beautiful lake. Throughout the party I was able to watch the sunset over the lake and WOW! It looked like something straight out of a movie!
What’s the best part of your job?
Getting to meet so many amazing people!
What motivates you to do this every day?
The handwork and dedication that I know goes into setting up for an event motivates me to do my part to the best of my ability!
What fun fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
My very distant great aunt is actually Judy Garland who played the famous Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz! (According to ancestry.com.)
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
Hugs! I feel like part of the family when a client hugs me out of appreciation and it truly shows their gratitude!
What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
“Are people using the photo booth?” to which I always answer YES! I can't wait for you to see all the photos!
Best piece of advice for our clients?
Trust the team! Tons of hard work goes into making sure your special night/event goes perfect. You focus on making lasting memories and let us do all the work!
